What medical conditions does Wartec Cream treat?
Genital warts
Genital warts are a common sexually transmitted infection (STI) caused by the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV). HPV can be passed on through direct skin-to-skin contact with someone who has this virus on their skin. It is typically transmitted from person to person during vaginal and anal sex. Up to half of sexually active adults are infected with HPV but only a small percentage will show outward signs of the virus.
What is the active ingredient in Wartec Cream?
Generic equivalent of Wartec Cream: podophyllotoxin
Wartec Cream contains podophyllotoxin 0.15% w/w, a plant extract that has antiviral properties. When used properly, it helps stop the spread of the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) and destroys the skin of the genital warts.
