What is a generic medication?
Generic medications are significantly discounted copies of brand name medication that have the same active ingredients, intended use, dosage, side effects, effects, and route of administration as the original brand name medication. In other words, generic medications have the same pharmacological effects as their brand-name counterparts. Over half of all prescribed medications are for generic medications.

Metrogel-Vaginal Overview
Metrogel-Vaginal is used to treat certain types of bacterial infections in the vagina. Metronidazole is an antibiotic that works by stopping the growth of bacteria.
How to Use Metrogel-Vaginal
Read the Instructions for Use that come with Metrogel-Vaginal before you start using Metrogel-Vaginal. If you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist. Metrogel-Vaginal is for vaginal use only. Use as directed by your doctor, usually once or twice daily. If using once daily, use the medication at bedtime. Wash your hands before and after use. Fill the applicator with the medication. Insert the applicator high into the vagina and press the plunger to release the medication. Avoid getting Metrogel-Vaginal in your eyes. If it gets into your eyes, rinse them with cool water. Call your doctor if eye irritation lasts. Continue to use Metrogel-Vaginal until the full prescribed amount is finished, even if symptoms disappear after a few days. Stopping the medication too early may allow bacteria to continue to grow, which may result in a return of the infection. Tell your doctor if your condition does not improve after several days or if it gets worse.
